BREAKING NEWS
4-22-08 Miami signs OT Jake Long as the 2008 #1 draft pick.
April 26, 2008 - NFL 2008 Draft will begin at 2pm CST, 3 hours later than last year.
Beginning this year rounds 1 and 2 only will be conducted on Sat with rounds 3-7 on Sun starting an hour earlier at 9am CST.
The time allocated for each club to make its selection has been reduced this year. In round 1 each team will have 10 minutes to make their selection. Round 2 will have 7 minutes. On Sunday rounsd 3-7 teams will have 5 minutes per selection.
We will be keeping our JAWS 2008 Draft Page, as well as each team page, updated with the picks as they happen.

Week 3 of Pre Season most teams will be giving their starters most of the game for their last major work out and as a result end any remaining camp competiions. Week 4 will mostly be to rest starters and take a final look at those players on verge of being cut to trim roster to regualar season 53 man roster.
Aug 26, 2008 - Tuesday prior to Thurs/Fri games of preseason week 4 NFL teams must cut rosters to 75.
Aug 30, 2008 - 4pm Saturday after final preseason games NFL teams must cut rosters to 53.
In addition to a 53 man active roster:
Each team has an 8 man reserve referred to as the practice squad.
Players on the PuP list will be inactive for at least six weeks
Players placed on IR will be inactive that season.
Aug 31, 2008 - After noon on Sunday each team can sigh up to eight players to thier practice squad.
Super Bowl XLIII 6PM Feb 1, 2009 at Tampa, Fla.
AFC - NFC Pro Bowl Feb 8, 2009 at Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Aug 15, 2007 - Tony Dungy appointed to President's Council on Service and Civic Participation by President Bush.
April 10, 2007 - Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner his new player conduct policy and the judgement for "pacman" Jones and Chris Henry.
Jones was suspended for the whole 2007 season and Henry for eight games (not weeks). Both without pay and with specific guidelines they must abide by to be able to apply for reinstatement at end of their suspension.
