History
The Cleveland Browns began play as a charter memberof the All-American Football Conference in 1946 and joined the NFL in 1950.
In 1996 Modell moved his Cleveland Browns to Baltimore. After many legal battles it was decided Cleveland would retain rights to history, colors, and Brown's name.
A reactivated Cleveland Browns team began play in 1999.
